Raftery Festival, November 9th – 14th 2009

Féile Raifteirí, Samhain 09ú – 14ú 2009

Once again, Kiltimagh, in the parish of Cill Aodain, plays host to the memory of its greatest bard, Anthony Raftery. We look forward to a very interesting event from Monday 9th till Saturday 14th November. As always we have a varied programme of workshops, readings, music, a book-launch, poetry slam and, of course, our work in schools throughout the week.

Writers, international author Elisabeth Mace (Louise Lawrence), Colette Nic Aodha, Philip Casey, Paul Casey, Ger Reidy, Geraldine Mitchell and Terry McDonagh will feature, as well singer-songwriter, Tony Reidy; Piper, Diarmaid Moynihan, Joe Byrne on flute, and story and historian, Basil Burke. Ollie Burke and Mary McNicholas will pay tribute to Raftery in song.

We look forward to seeing you at some stage, even if it’s only for a pint in one of the many cosy establishments in the town.

The programme of events will be published on this page at the end of September.

Terry McDonagh

Artistic Director
